Recently updated my graphics card to a 970 and was having issue with booting pausing on the bios screen. So I updated the bios to the latest version using @bios.

No problems initially, it booted with the new bios absolutely fine and was much faster. I have installed and restarted multiple times with no problems when using the PC, but as soon as i leave it off overnight, it will not boot up. It takes many attempts with a black screen, when eventually i get the OLD version of the bios that comes up, and after that multiple MORE restarts before I get the new bios to come up. Once it does that it works fine! As long as i dont leave it off too long.

Whats going on here? How can i resolve this?

The system switches to the second BIOS chip after n failed attempts. Once the new BIOS works, go into the BIOS and save the default settings and reboot. Then reconfigure it as it was before. Updating the BIOS as suggested by cin19 is better, but regardless of the method used, you should have seen a warning about the requirement to set the default settings after the upgrade.
