Wanting to build a gaming PC 1000$ to 1200$

Hi, everyone! I've never built a PC before, and now I'm looking to build a gaming PC with a budget from 1000$ to 1200$ that can run the next gens games like The Witcher 3 or Assassin's Creed Unity. I am only familiar with Intel and Nvidia GTX, besides that I have no clue. I've been doing some research but I still don't know which brand parts are compatible with which.
