Hi ,
I have a Dell Inspiron latop , Graphics Card : AMD Radeon HD 8500 / 8700 ( according to my device manager ) Whenever I play games , or use any other software , my computer uses the on-board Intel graphics card. The only choice I get at the settings of multiple games/programs is the Intel graphics card , the AMD card is not there to choose . I have used the Switchable graphics , and set the programs to "High Performance" but it doesn't change anything. I still can only select the Intel card. I have updated my drivers ( via CCC ) but nothing is changing the fact that my computer keeps using the Intel graphics card.

A simple example is skyrim , in the launcher I can only select Intel HD 4000 graphics card.

Any help would be MUCH appreciated.
Thank you ,
Matthew

It sound like you have installed the AMD driver (CCC). That driver doesn't support the switch from Intel to AMD. That is only supported by the original driver, that came with the laptop.

I rolled back and it didn't change anything. On the Directx Diagnostic Tool it still uses the Intel graphics card. Another thing to note is that there is no
"Video configuration" option whenever I access the BIOS.

The diagnostic tool will always show th Intel card, because there is no load at that time. Start a graphics intensive program and it will switch to the AMD card. And yes, there is no video configuration in bios, because there is nothing to configure.
