Hi,

The FlashDrive was listed under my Computer once plugged in to a USB port of either a computer of mine.
It was working well yesterday with all my Computers, HP laptop with a USB 3.0, 2.0.(Windows 7 64Bit), and with my Desktop Computer with P 4(Two operating systems: Windows XP SP3 32Bit, and Windows XP SP2 32Bit ) with a USB 2.0, and with my P3 with a USB 1.0(Windows XP SP132Bit) . However, today, it wasn't detected at all when I tried plugging it in to a USB 2.0 port located on the in front of my Desktop Computer P 4 in both Windows XP SP3 32Bit, and Windows XP SP2 32Bit in return. Once FlashDrive got plugged to that USB 2.0, I have noticed that notification 'a new hardware was unable to be detected well'. As a result, it was not shown in the Computer place. Thus, I tried plugging it in to the USB2.0 located on the back of the computer, on which was working well. However, this time was not detected at all. The FlashDrive was not detected at all. If it was detected, then it would be at least unallocated. However, even its LED didn't light at all once it got plugged in to a USB, although it was lighting.
I think there was virus corrupted it.

I don't care about that drive if it was corrupted or not as much as I care about the data inside it. Thus, Could you please at least let me know how to recover the data inside it?
My FlashDrive is ADATA 2GB, it is about 5years old
Can I take apart it, and fix anything inside? I don't see any screws to be unscrewed?

Solution
Unless you are a flash memory engineer, there are no user serviceable parts inside a flash drive. It is dead.

Adata is not the best brand. Stick to a name brand manufacturer, such as Corsair, Crucial, PNY, or SanDisk. I have used drives from all of them and they have lasted for years. However, also be aware that these drives can catastrophically fail at any time (just like any other storage), and should be backed up regularly or else data will be permanently lost.

Thanks a lot,
That USB FlashDrive was detected and working well on my HP laptop with Windows 7(64Bit), and Desktop Computer P 3 with Windows XP SP1(32Bit)before plugging it in to P 4 with Windows XP SP2, and SP3.
It was also detected and working well while plugging into a USB 2.0 located on the back side of the P 4 Desktop Computer.

However, once it was plugged in to a USB 2.0 located on the front side of the P4 Desktop Computer . Then FlashDrive was not detected at all, and then became no longer detected when plugging in to the any USB on all Computers.
I don't know if the plugging it to that USB 2.0 located on the front side of the P 4 Computer, or there are some viruses on the P 4 made the USB Drive be infected and then, it became defective
How could I even recovery the data on the USB FlashDrive as long as there is no space(disk) shown at all once plugged in to the Computer.
Note, Those drive letters are for parition on the local hard drive, and on the external hard disk drive.

I think there is no way to recovery the data. As you said drive is most likely dead, and will need to be replaced.' But I don't know why you have suggested this as long as you know that drive is dead.

Thanks a lot,

First: Even without using any data-recovery programs, I will be one hundred percent sure that the Flash Drive is dead since there has been no assigned drive letter, nor has the Flash Drive been listed as unallocated space. This is really a significant problem.
The Flash Drive was cost me only ten dollars, thus fixing it is not as important as recovering the data on it.
Could you suggest me to do any other way to try to recovery the data on it. Also, I have contact the ADATA Technology company in Taiwan, they suggest sending the Flash Drive by a registered mail since there is no after-sales agent in my own country 'Yemen'. However, this would be costing me much more than purchasing another new one.

Second Also, as long as there is no assigned drive letter for the USB Flash Drive, and even the Flash Drive is not listed as unallocated space once it plugged to my computer, then how could any Data Recovery programs be able to recovery the data on the USB Flash Drive.

Third: Besides, there is USB Flash Drive Online Recovery at ADATA site, however, this will only try to fix and repair the Flash Drive as well, and however, it will destroy, delete all data on it.

'USB Flash Drive Online Recovery is a repair tool that saves you time and effort. If, when you connect the flash drive, the drive cannot be read, or if you see a message saying that the drive needs to be formatted, you can use this online tool to attempt to repair the device. The easy to understand interface can be an immediate solution to existing problems on the drive, saving you time and money. This online tool is accessible from anywhere on the internet, and available 24 hours a day.

Notes
* The repair process will delete all data on your flash drive. Please backup all data before using.
* This software will restore the drive function, but not recover data on the drive.
* Hardware Requirements: Support for USB 2.0 port, internet connection (This software requires an active online connection to function)
* System Requirements: Windows XP SP3 or later (login with Administrator rights)'

Finaly: if I had taken apart it, and tried to fix it, it would have been good idea since sending it to ADATA by registered mail would be costing much more than purchasing another new one.

Could anyone please answer my questions above.
Also, I am not satisfied with ADATA storage at all since this Flash Drive which is one of their products was defective without warning me with any errs to let me at least copy my data inside it.

There are carsy people working for the ADATA company since they said to me send the USB Flash Drive defective to Taiwan to try fixing it.
I am live in a country which is far away from Taiwan, which means that sending the Flash drive would cost twice as much than purchasing ten new Flash Drives.

I took the rubber cover of my Flahs Drive, so if you can see my screen shots below, could you please let me know if there something can be fixed on it. I ONLY NEED TO RECOVER THE DATA ON IT.
