6+2 Pin to 6 Pin Question

Hi I have a gigabyte windforce r9 290 with one 8pin and one 6 pin connection to make the rig look cleaner however I want to use a 6pin extension connection rather than a 6+2 however the cable itself that the extension it will be plugged into is a 6+2 would that be a problem?

If you're asking, will I have a problem if I plug a 6-pin plug into an 8-pin socket on my graphics card? I don't know, I haven't tried it.

you mean and adaptor 6 pins to 8 pins???

6 pins from psu to gpu card 8 pins?

Waiting for him to come back and clarify but I think he means using a 6-pin extension between a 8-pin PCIe supply and the 8-pin socket on the card.

Sorry for taking so long and sounding confusing I mean using a 6+2 that comes with my PSU to a 6 Pin to plug into a 6 pin slot

As long as you plug all of the pins. The left overs don't matter but it will look messy
