Hi there,
I recently bought a new laptop (Lenovo y50-70) and I'd expect it to be able to play at least minecraft on a decent fps (like 100?) but alas it consistently runs on like 10 fps.... I've meddled with the graphic setting in game but still, I think something's wrong as I'd expect the specs to be able to handle better....
The specs are:
- Quad-core Intel Core i7-4710HQ 2.5GHz to 3.5GHz with Turbo Boost (no idea how to turbo boost)
- NVIDIA GeForce GTX-860M, 4GB GDDR5
- 16GB ram
- 1tb hdd, 8 gb ssd

Many thanks in advance for any help :)

Solution
Check the max temps, they are the ones that matter.

As for the graphics:

1) Click Start and then Control Panel. Select Classic View from the left side of the window.
2) Double-click NVIDIA Control Panel.
3) Click View and next Display GPU Activity Icon in Notification Area.
4) Click the new icon in the notification area. A pop-up will show applications using the NVIDIA graphics. When the NVIDIA graphics is not used, it will show None.

Ok checked temperatures and they're roughly at 60 degrees.... that's the left hand column... Im guessing the right hand column is the max kinda level? hmm well I've also played a bit of world of tanks which seems to run happily on roughly 40 fps which is ok, but surprisingly better than minecraft as a pose to being more complicated?.... Is there a way I can see which graphics I'm using?
thanks again :)

Ok so I've set the default card to nvidia :)
The max temperatures are as follows:
core #1 - 69
core #2 - 67
core #3 - 68
core #4 - 63
cpu package - 69

Thanks

Sweet updating the geforce driver and but intel is being funny as there's some customized one so I need to contact the manufacturer on which to install... Hopefully this will work :)
