after talking with ms support apparently they have no way of helping my but my desktop account lost all admin privileges and can no longer be logged in to. so i either need to be able to force a new admin account to be added or to forcibly restore those privileges in the mean time ill be seeing if i can fix it with an install disk

Hello... In the View point of others, " It's like your callin the Safe company for the combination to one of their Safes..."
So it cannot be adressed here... Policy, Security, walk-a-rounds and HACKs is not what we are here for... and is Also Why the Microsoft call didn't help you.
But I can tell you this... If you were the installer - aka - Adminstrator of the Software... Your were instructed to write a Password down.

this basically has nothing to do with losing a password after going through the registry with an install disk it looks like the registry key for the account is gone but the CID is still there which would explain why I see the name but the correct password doesn't work. btw this is all tied to a live account and the other computers with that acount all work fine. to explain futher ill link to another thread from when i started on this http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-2476914/locked-desktop-strange.html

one other thing the microsoft guy was the one that told me that this is what i needed to look for after reading through what was wrong he determined that was the problem and couldn't help me for the reasons you just said i'm trying to figure out who can help. I'm aware that this sounds shady and I'd like to avoid it if possible i'd like to find a way to restore my system with just the install disk but i can't lose whats saved if nothing else i at least need the files it will be a pain to redownload all the programs but i can at least deal with that
