Before hand, specs:
Intel G3258 (No OC)
Asrock H97M- ITX
Sapphire R9 270
8 Gigs RAM

Before i installed my r9 270 (Installed Correctly) i had my PC hooked up from my motherboard using a VGA to VGA port and everything was fine, but when my gpu was setup it would not show a feed on my monitor, forcing me to use my larger monitor with terrible quality via HDMI. PS. my main monitor only has VGA and my gpu doesnt and i would prefer quick fixes over needing to order a vga to dvi converter. Any questions just ask if i left anything out.

Unless the GPU has a VGA port, then you're going to need a converter to even use it. If you used a VGA cable with your motherboard's VGA port then you will only get the on-board graphics. Honestly, I would use a monitor that has a DVI port.
