Hello all, I just build a brand new computer and I've had it for about 2 months running on a WD Blue HDD. Here are the specs.

I JUST bought the crucial mx100 512GB SSD, installed it a few days ago, I wiped the hdd, and fresh installed Windows 8.1 onto the SSD. Everythings been running great for past few days since I got it last thurs. Last night I was playing Modern Warfare 3 and all of the sudden the whole game froze. I couldnt ctrl+alt+delete, nothing... I didnt really think anything of it because this had happened before, it would finally f/c and i could just restart the game.

This time after about 5+ mins of waiting, a "light blue" screen came up and said "Windows had crashed, gathering info to help solve the problem" and a spinning progress... thing....

The computer restarted, showed bios, then after that it was just a black screen that said "boot mngr is missing, press cntrl+alt+delete to restart"

I freaked out.... thought my SSD was toast after a few days of use.

So i rebooted again.... same message. again.. same.....

So out of curiosity i went into the bios. and it didnt show my SSD in the HD list. I clicked on "boot priority's" and there was my SSD, set as the secondary drive.... So i clicked on it to set it as the main boot device and it worked.

The only thing is, every time i reboot it gives me the boot mngr missing message and i have to reset it. Does anybody know whats going on here? Did something get messed up when it crashed? should I re install windows?

thanks in advance

Check your system's UEFI BIOS for an option that is used to enable and disable drives. It is possible the ssd is not enabled in the UEFI BIOS. The option is separate from the boot priority feature and it is usually located someplace else. I have an ASRock motherboard. It has an advanced section which includes a drive configuration section. Your UEFI BIOS probably has a different page layout.
