Hello Any help would be appreciated My Alienware windows 7 laptop has stopped working. When I load the computer two minutes afterwards it says it failed to expand shell folder constant "userappdata". And keeps me from using anything or being able to find any kind of programs or files. And won't let me use anything on my laptop.

Solution
Perhaps try this: (I did not come up with this)

I know you said you cannot open files, but does it happen immedietly or is there a time where you can change things?

Make sure to back up your registery before going about this.
Click on “Start-Run, type “regedit” (without the quotes)
Navigate to this registry path:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER --> Software --> Microsoft --> Windows --> Current Version --> Explorer --> User Shell Folders
Clear the key: Recent (right mouse click on the key/folder, choose “Delete”)
Close the Registry Editor and restart the computer.

I've tried to do a system restore but it won't let me open anything. And I mean anything no files what so ever. If you can figure out how to make me ably to do that then yes that would work
