I recently installed a Samsung 840 MSATA drive in my MSI GE60 laptop. With the SSD being only 120GB, i kept the original 1TB mechanical hard drive for all my games and movies while reinstalling Windows 8.1 on the SSD. However, at specific points in gameplay, the hard drive usage will spike to 100% and the game will either freeze entirely or suffer a drop in frame rate. These spikes only last around 1 second and always occur at the same points in gameplay like in Fifa 15 when a shot has been taken on goal or in CIV V when a turn has been ended. These usage spikes never occurred before the SSD was installed and are very annoying. Is there a solution to the problem or is it something i will have to live with?
