Hello, this may be a stupid question, but my graphics card does not seem to ever heat up, even when I play games such as battlefield 3, does this mean it is not working to its full potential or is it just that I have 5 fans (gpu fan included) in my case? I just want to make sure I get the most out of my graphics card, which is a gt 740 OC edition.

I have the a6-6400k processor, 8gb ram (unsure what kind), and a gigabyte f2a58m-HD2 or something like that.

1280x1024 60.02hz Most settings on medium and vsync on, I don't really receive great performance, I tend to get fps drops etc and I have not seen the gpu pass even 50C (ingame), so maybe I can maybe make my gpu work faster somehow?

Well, low temps can mean you have good cooling, not that the GPU is not working fully.
Use MSI Afterburner to check the temps and usage of the GPU + CPU.
Also, disable Vsync if you want you GPU to work at full force.
Still, the best is to enable Adaptive Vsync if you have the option.

Try overclocking the card using MSI Afterburner. Be CAREFUL though.

Follow this guide for more insight on OCing. This is a slightly better card in the guide but the principle is the same.
