Does liquid cooling reduce the effect of dust on a full tower system?

I'm a heavy smoker, and will be building a full tower relatively soon. This is the build I had picked out, but with the amount of dust I've noticed building up in my present build, and the resulting problems, I'm considering liquid cooling. Obviously I would be investing in both a cpu and a gpu cooler. Would liquid cooling reduce the dust build up- or atleast the effects of dust build up-enough to justify the extra cost and the risk?

In case you're wondering, this is the build I'm considering.

But I'm considering switching to this case due to the excess of filters.

Or even have the radiators etc in an external box or other Pc case, if you go that route theres lots of us on here that can help with that.
The best option for keeping your Main Pc case dust free as mentioned is plenty of airflow and filters on the intake fans, but you will always get dust in there, you can only control how much.
My Pc has/had (I'm rebuilding currently) both an externally mounted radiator, and radiators in an external box, as well as an externally mounted reservoir in the form of a modified fire extinguisher,

The external rad is on top ofc and the box its sat on contains more W/c stuff, after about three years I have this...

I don't believe water cooling will prevent dust build up ssubstantially, because the loop's cooling fans will still suck dust into the case so it will be non preventable in the long run.

A case with filters is a great idea. I have a Coolermaster cosmos full tower, and it comes with dust filters that you can remove for cleaning, at each fan intake port. It has been a blessing. I would go for that instead.

Remember that there are more things to go wrong with a water cooling setup over a simple HSF setup.

I'd say that it would slightly reduce dust build up since you'll lack a CPU fan, But with this build you will need some case fans too.

Dust isn't really a problem in your PC unless it is a ridicules amount of it! Just clean your PC out once a month with a can of compressed air

Hi
You could fit the radiator and fans outside the case, some cases have grommetted holes to do this.
You would then fit one filtered intake fan to the case to cool the motherboard and the HDD.
This would minimize the amount of dust entering the case.

What I'm asking is would dust build up affect heat dissipation less in a watercooled system because the heatsinks are enclosed??

No idea how this would work. Could you link a youtube video or atleast a picture? And would this raise the price even more?

Dust getting into any system plays a part in thermals within a system, not just on heat sinks, but also the fans and other components. If you can prevent it from being within the case, its for the better.

Using an external radiator is definitely an option, would be no more expensive but with a full tower, and the radiator outside, it will take up a lot of space. You could go for a smaller tower and external WC.

And thats with no filters at all and I never cleaned it, and I'm a heavy smoker too :p
Whatever solution fits your needs we can help with, so come out with crazy ideas and we'll see what we can do,

I don't think I'll be doing anything quite that hardcore, but I think to help reduce both the amount of dust and the effects of dust I'll be going with a positive air flow design, probably the case mentioned, and fans set up in a pull design so that the dust is easy to clean without disconnecting the fans. Not sure whether or not I'll be externally mounting the radiators, or even mounting them in a second enclosure.

No worries man, I know my setup is a little ott but it was just to show you that whatever you decide you want, is always possible to do, and theres plenty of nutters here that can help figure things out :)
Positive air is good as you can see from my pic, 3 years lol thats not a lot of dust really

Oh my goodness lord!I doesn't even look like a computer anymore!

And what the hell is the fire extinguisher for?
