So i know this is not cost efficient at all but im just wondering if this will even work. So if i get the amd a10-7850k apu and then got an r9 280x/270x, would that even work like a normal gpu would pair up with a normal cpu?? Would it run off the separate graphics card or the integrated graphics? OR would it force me to run them in dual graphics (i know only the r7 250/265 works with this apu)

You would have to choose to use either the APU's graphics OR the GPU's graphics for gaming. There is no way to make them work together. I believe It's possible to use the GPU on one monitor then the APU on another bout I'm not 100% certain of this!

Ive seens lots of people play with an r9 290 or 280x with an amd apu tho? those ones were the a10-6800k tho, would that make a difference? would i have to get a different apu to use a gpu such as the r9 290 or the 280x along side?

As you already know, the a10-7850k only works with the r7 250/265 in dual graphics. Any other card would work on it's own. Which graphics solution to be used depends on where you connect your monitor. If you connect your monitor to the motherboard's graphics output, the APU's graphics solution is being used. If you connect your monitor to the graphics card output, then the graphics card is being used.

Have you actually bought any parts yet? Do you already have a motherboard and that's why you are looking at APU's?

From what I understand, you want the best CPU and GPU performance possible for your money. With that in mind, if you let me know your country and budget I will find out what the best possible combination(s) of CPU and GPU are

the reason why im looking to get an apu is because its soooo much cheaper than getting an r7 265 separate with an athlon 860k. its like 60+ dollars cheaper and then i could just later upgrade and get double the performance by adding another r7 265/250. right? and if i go with the apu, i can get a really nice mouse and keyboard such as the death adder chroma and the 2014 tournament edition razer mechanical keyboard(thats a mouthful)... or i could get an OS instead of the keyboard.

I won't prefer apu + gpu dual graphics , that only increase a little bit performance , not worth. I rather to pick 280x with 860k would better.

It won't double the performance. Some games don't even support Crossfire and it can cause lots of issues. For the quality of gaming it would be much better to buy a decent CPU and a separate GPU from the start. The absolute best card you can crossfire with the A10-7850K is the R7 250 which is a pretty weak card for gaming.

Is $550 the total for your whole build? If so, this will be a decent budget gaming machine and be a ENORMOUS upgrade over an A10-7850K + R7 250
