Samsung 840 SSD not booting

Hi!

My SATA 840 120gb SSD just stopped working. It can't be seen in UEFI, except after a plug-out and plug-in (it shows the proper size too). But even then, it's failing to boot. It's very slow if it does anything at all, sometimes I get a blue windows logo, but that's all.

i tried reaching it from a Linux live disc, with a windows usb, but failed.
Tried running it for 20 minutes then plugging it off for half a minute in cycles.
I also moved it to a laptop (though as a primary drive) but not worked.
Even checked the memories but nothing.

I'm 99% sure it's dead, but I need to be confirmed before I bury all those things not yet saved to cloud. :(

Or is there a chance it can be restored?

Thank you all for your help,
Daniel

Motherboard: ASUS FM2A75 pro4-m (with latest driver now)
SSD: Samsung Basic SSD 120GB (haven't done anything with controller or driver)

Sounds like the the drive is dying/dead. If you haven't tried, change the Sata cable and a different port on the motherboard. If that doesn't work, the only other thing i would try would be to get a sata to usb adapter and plug it in externally to a computer you know works, open up windows hard drive manager and see if windows sees it. if windows doesn't see it try using Easeus partition manager http://www.easeus.com/download/epmf-download.html

If none of those options work then i would say its dead, see if its under warranty through samsung http://www.samsung.com/us/support/service/request

Thank you, I will definitely try it. The weird part for me is that it is recognised after power-cut in the uefi, with the proper size. I don't know how much that means.

it sounds like the SSD controller on the Samsung is partially functioning, but isn't doling out instructions to the flash memory. I had an OCZ vertex do almost the same exact thing, except it would not get past the logo screen of the computer. I was able to go into the bios and it would see it, but could not boot. I tried a different hard drive just to make sure it was the cable or SATA card, and it worked fine. so then i plugged it into windows and windows didn't see it so i used Easesus, and it saw it for about 2 seconds then vanished. called up OCZ and they told me that it was the on-board SSD controller that was faulty.
