PC gaming on LED TV vs Console

I just built a new PC with a 4790k processor but I don't have a decent graphics card yet and plan on getting one soon (I plan on the GTX 970 I think). I'll point out that I'm pretty new to PC gaming too.

My problem is that I live in a small apartment and don't have room for a computer desk at the moment so my PC is on the wood floor next to my TV and I use that as my monitor. I sit on the sofa with a wireless keyboard and mouse. My TV is new too - a 1080p 50" Sony Bravia 50W829 which apparently has a good lag time for it's size and for a TV. Taken from a Trusted Reviews review 25/02/14: "Gamers may recall that Sony’s 2013 TVs recorded some remarkably low input lag figures, making them terrific gaming monitors. And the 50W829 picks up the baton, with input lag measurements that fluctuated between 32ms and just 6ms, giving an average of just 19ms. This is a superb result that should in no way damage your gaming abilities."

I play my PS3 on my old TV and for the past few months on this one and I've never had an issue with lag. Indeed people are playing PS4s on TVs. My question is: will I experience anything different playing PC games on my TV than I will my PS3 other than the ability to increase the res upward from 1080p? Is there any difference between console gaming on a TV and PC gaming on one? Thanks in advance :)

ps. I do play shooters such as COD and Far Cry as well as RPGs. Thanks :)

I personally use my 32" LED TV as a monitor, and the display is perfectly fine for me.

As to your question, the difference between console gaming on a TV and PC gaming on a TV is only going to be the difference between gaming on a console and gaming on a PC,
