ASrock Z97 Extreme3 Bios Update Without CPU

I recently purchased a Intel Core i7 4790k and I am just about to purchase the Asrock Z97 Extreme3, and I've heard i need a bios update to be able to use the CPU. Is there any possible way to update the bios to complete my system without the CPU? Im kinda confused.

You shouldn't need a BIOS update unless you want to use the automatic overclocking feature. All Z97 boards should support Haswell-Refresh processors right out of the box.

When getting the board, check the sticker on the BIOS chip. See if P1.30 or later (1.40).

If not, you can order a BIOS chip on ebay and replace the board's one (it's on socket).
