If a motherboard that is turned off got wet could it be saved?

Just a bit curious but really don't feel like testing this out myself. Lets say like a small drop of water fell into my computer and landed on the motherboard could it be saved? What about if that green standby light is on.

Yes, let it dry out completely before turning it on. If it was just a few drops of water, an hour or two should be plenty. If that's all it was...
(but even with a bigger splash, as long as nothing sizzled and popped, it will probably be ok. Turn off the PSU and/or unplug the power cord until it dries out)

I would say it's fine.
It depends where the water landed of course, and the quantity.

There is an unrealistic fear out there about water and computers, unless it has had a whole cup of coffee spilled on it, chances are it's fine - remember that there is moisture in air, so it's not water itself that's the problem, it's just if it alters the flow of electricity in a bad way.

So even if the green led is on when it gets wet it still has a chance to be saved as long as I dont turn the whole system on?
