I just got an SSD 120GB Corsair, Im trying to load windows 8.1 32Bit onto it using the disk. The partition is formatted and correct using all the space no other partitions. It will not let me install on this disk, it says that the volume dose not have enough available space. I'm stumped because I had win 8.1 64bit installed on it before and it worked fine. Please help any suggestions........ Maybe is it because its a 32Bit and dose not support an SSD?

Solution

Yes. That will preclude any other problems.

What 'partition' are you trying to install it to?

32bit OS will absolutely install on an SSD. That has nothing to do with it.

Possibly you need to, during the install, delete all existing partitions and let Windows do its thing with the whole space.

I have win 8.1 64bit installed on my other SSD which is Disk 0
I have a formatted 1TB HDD with no OS Disk 2
The ssd im trying to install on is Disk 1 Partition 1 and it wont work.
Should I unplug all my other drives besides rom and the ssd im trying to install on?

ill give it a try.

on disk management this is what I have. all formatted to NTFS

disk 0 Partition 1 is System Data Partition 2 is os 64Bit (250GB SSD)
disk 1 Partition 1 is Formatted and 100% Free (120GB SSD)
disk 2 partition 1 is Formatted and 100% Free (HDD)

ill try that and come back here
