I am building a budged oriented (~500$) computer, and as I'm looking through the possible hard drives, I see 2 main options. I have opted for a 1TB drive, and I am trying to decide between the black and blue drives. I see that the black drives are better, but are also more expensive, putting me pretty far past the 500$ mark vs. the blue drives. My build as it is right now is: http:// I would appreciate if in addition to answering this question, you would rate the quality of my build as well.
Many thanks for all the help in advance,
A PC noob

You won't really notice much of a performance difference in that system between a black and a blue. The black is obviously faster, but for what you need, the blue will do the trick just fine. The one noticeable difference is in the warranty. The Black is 5 year, the blue is 2 year.

Hi there Quantatic,

WD Black is considered to be a premium product. This is why it falls in a higher price range.
I would agree with jimthenagual and say that the WD Blue would be the better option in your case. You will not notice that much of a performance difference.
