HELP!!! My newly installed LAN driver wont work

First of all, you need to be 100% sure that the driver is compatible with your chipset.
To find the right driver click start, right click my computer, click properties and then open the "device manager"
Find the network driver, right click it, go to properties, click on the details tab and under that where it says device description, select hardware id's.
Pick one of the id's and search for it in google.
Only ever download the driver itself, not a program that scans and updates them for you.

ok i searched it and went on a website that showed me whats compatible and whats not after i checked i noticed that it is compatible with windows 8 64bit. what should i do now?
