Hey, I've been getting a lot of DPC(?) issues lately and using a Latency test USB 3.0 seemed the cause (I was getting a lot of dropouts and crackling with audio after a few hours of computer use, it's very annoying). So being the idiot I am, after trying to download all the updates for it I tried uninstalling and alas, I can't access my PC. I'm in BIOS atm, wondering if I can enable it somehow in there? Any help would be appreciated

Would you suggest I put the Windows CD in and attempt a system repair or full reinstall? Would I lose data and would this even be possible without use of keyboard and mouse?

ok. typically you can't "disable" usb3 in the bios... if it's an option, it would be found somewhere around the south-bridge settings.

as for your device issues in windows. i suggest you load into safemode. safemode loads generic drivers wherever possible, so it should give you functioning mouse and keyboard. if it doesn't you can always try to repair your windows install

Thanks for your help ingtar. I disabled XHCI and I have access to my devices right now, I'll edit this post if I'm able to reinstall the USB 3.0. Seems I'm in 2.0 right now I would imagine

Herein lies the next problem, I'm trying to install the 3.0 drivers and it's claiming my computer doesn't meet the minimum requirements to install, frustrating

Edit: It's not quite the end of the world is it? I'm pretty sure that's what was causing drop outs and audio problems for my PC, just done another latency test and there's no problems. Do I even need it?

Edit2: Nvm, just let it run longer and now it's the USB 1.1 and 2.0 ports that's causing me latency :/

Edit3: It seems to be whenever I plug something into a USB 3.0 slot, the latency goes up - is this because my devices (mouse, keyboard, headset and wireless adapter) aren't USB 3.0? I only have three 2.0 slots, and it's not really possible for me to use an ethernet cable

latency? i'm not sure what you mean

if you're plugging devices into usb3 plugs and don't have the right drivers for them, then yes you'll have issues.

as for your system "not meeting the min specs" it sounds like you're trying to install x64 drivers on an x86 machine... that or your pc doesn't have actual usb3 ports, or for some reason the usb3 ports are not working due to a problem with the motherboard.
