Hey, I am about to install my Arctic Freezer i30, but I have question about thermal paste applying;

Instruction, which came with CPU cooler box, recommends that thermal paste should be applied on every heatsink pipe(4 of them) using lines. Here is image for applying instruction, check 6 step: http://support.arctic.ac/products/fi30/img/x05.jpg.pagespeed.ic.8f2AUfSlyD.jpg

My question is - wouldn't it be too much thermal paste ? Almost every CPU coolers installation guide I see in internet contains information about pea or line size method on CPU (as I understand, it means it uses less thermal paste).

What do you think ?

Thanks.

Solution
The cpu cooler you have is quite different to most aftermarket cooler like Coolermaster EVO 212. It does not have a 'flat' surface thus you need to add lines of paste on each heatsink. Most cpu cooler have a flat surface. Your does not have this as you have gaps in between the pipes hence you need to do as instructed by the guide.

when using lines or even spreading thermal paste it is very important to make sure there are no air bubbles before placing the heatsink on the CPU+Paste.
Now Most prefer putting the past where it is needed in a small line or P shaped drop. Best placed over the area of the Die of the CPU. Which happens to be in the shape of a line or very tiny rectangle.
.... Less is more when it comes to the CPU and thermal paste.
