Hi all

Need help and opinion on what direction I will go in upgrading my PC. I have been researching these past few weeks and I can't decide which component to upgrade or replace my outdated hardware with. It still runs fine, I recently finished Shadow of Mordor in Medium settings with it, but I figured its time to upgrade. My budget is strictly around 400 - 450$. And yes, I use it mainly for gaming.

My Specs:
Mobo: H61MU-E35 (B3)
CPU: i5-2400
Cooler: Cooler Master X Dream i117
RAM: 2x Kingston PC3-12800 DDR3 4GB 1600Mhz
GPU: Gtx 650 ti
PSU: Aerocool Strike X 600W
HDD: Seagate Barracuda 500GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache (I have three of these and a WD5000AAKS)

I will be eternally grateful for your help and suggestions.

Thanks

^Agreed. Your Andyson-built PSU is not a good one. I'd get a quality 550W PSU made by Seasonic or Super Flower, then get a GTX970. That will be a huge upgrade from your GTX650Ti.

So GPU first then PSU then Motherboard and CPU? how about cooling? because in normal use its quiet but when I play games (Shadow of Mordor, Sniper Elite 3, dragon age: inquisition, to name a few) it's like a tiny man screeching from inside the PC. You can hear the fan throttling like its trying to keep up with the CPU temp, should I do something about that? Also the motherboard is outdated, like 2011 outdated, I know my processor is still going strong but the mobo? Should I replace or its fine as it is? Sorry for the questions, but I want to ask all of this so I won't regret it later when I upgrade.
Again I am eternally grateful.
Thanks.
More power to you all

For a basic, non-overclocking motherboard, the one you have should be fine. A motherboard replacement may add ports and slots, but won't have much overall effect on performance. In most cases, replacing the motherboard will also require a new Windows license.

I have a Thermaltake case that has an optional front and rear slot for fan which I am planning to use, I hope it helps. Is this PSU fine to use? PSU Corsair VS Series™ VS550 550watts ATX Power Supply.
Thanks Again

The Seasonic-built XFX PSU that rockie_ linked is a higher-quality unit, but the Corsair is better than what you have.
If you add those fans to your case, that should help a lot. For quiet, I'd choose Enermax fans, or for more flow, probably Corsair. You might put an Enermax in the front, because it is closer to you, for the quiet, and a faster Corsair in the back, for the flow.
