Like description says, looking for a solution to hit 60 fps @ 1080p maxed.

I know the 980 is literally 10-15% difference in performance sometimes not even that much, but being DX 12 ready and the boost that might come from that I just thought it might be a better solution than an sli setup.

Computer Specs:

CPU: i7 4930k @ 4.1GHZ
RAM: 16GB G.Skill
HDD/SSD: Intel 530 240 GB, aData 256 sx900, 2TB Seagate HDD, 1TB WD HDD, 4 TB WD HDD.
Graphics: Reference 780 TI (PNY)
PSU: Corsair AX860
Case: In Win 904

I personally wouldn't upgrade, you are not that far behind the curve. Yes, a gtx 980 is better but not by that much. The hierarchy list has them on the same tier.

If you aren't getting 60fps in a game with that setup at 1080p it's most likely driver optimizations/game updates to blame. Ubisoft has been getting a lot of flack for their ports over to pc being bad.

...and sli/crossfire isn't that great.

Well there a couple for example Far Cry 4 is one of the ones that is annoying to keep dipping in the 50s and 40s, mostly when the day cycles.

Even with lowered graphics it does it still. I can't remember off the top of my head which other ones but I'll edit this after I got home and see them I'll remember.

Edit: I'm assuming the GM210 most likely might be the 980 GTX ti? I know the 1000s planned by Nvidia aren't to release until 2016

well im 70% sure the Gm210 will be a titan maybe IF amd release's a strong card nvidia will replay with a GTX980 TI with GM210 inside with 4GB RAM and some locked futures available to the titan.

i heard far cry 4 has bad FPS with the Nvidia Preset is that the one you're using?

coz i have a far infiror PC and im maxing it out 60FPS No dips at all without AA 3570K 5GHZ with a 7950 @ 1300/1900

afaik MSAA/SMAA really kills the frames maybe u should turn it down to 2X

It's Ubisoft not your GPU they have been doing a poor job optimizing their games the last few years. I max out every game at 1440P and hold a framerate of 60fps, but I don't play Ubisoft games so I can't really test them out.

I'm suing some presets.

Here I think I made a video before, it seems to be fine but has random hiccups
