AMD Catalyst Control Center installed a different driver?

I installed the newest version of AMD Catalyst Control Center today, and noticed it said I had a different card than I *actually* do. I.e. it said it had installed drivers for AMD Radeon R9 M265X, when in reality my GPU is AMD Radeon HD 8850.
I'm not even sure how or what happened, but I'll describe step by step what I did:

Earlier today I wanted to check detailed information on my graphics card and following AMD's guide, I opened up my Catalyst Control Center looking for the "Informations" tab to find the details I needed. I noticed my CCC's version didn't have it though, as I previously downloaded the drivers straight out of Dell.com support for my laptop.

I downloaded the latest AMD CCC from the official AMD site, using the "Automatically Detect and Install Your Driver" option. I did an Express installation over the CCC version I already had, and it proceeded to install my drivers again (much to my surprise as I expected only the CCC software would install).

However, when it was done installing I was notified that the driver for AMD Radeon R9 M265X was installed and could now be used... and I was baffled at how that was even possible. My GPU is a Radeon HD 8850, not an R9 M265X! It seems to be working fine, but this is far from normal. After I post this I'm going to fire up a game and see if it heats up or does something weirder than usual.

Should I keep this version, though? I like the newer version of their software but it's crazy that they wrongly detected my hardware!
Should I just stick to the older version that Dell support suggested I get (which correctly installed the drivers for my GPU)? Is this harmful to my GPU?
I need help/suggestions as this is just way over my head. Thanks in advance!
