Got SLI Working today, and started up my usual games.

Started up WoW, but didn't really notice any particular FPS increase?

Anything I need to know about that?

It does seem to use both of my graphic cards though, also when I don't have anything running, it's only the 1st graphic card that's using it's usage?

Thanks!

Its cuz WOW does not need SLI especially with 780Tis. Try playing the Metro Series Redux. You notice an increase in FPS.

I also played Firefall, didn't notice an FPS increase there either. Is there a free game where you can really see the difference, just to check if it's working?

And also, is it safe just to disable SLI on your NVidia control panel, just switch it on and off all the time for tests? That doesn't hurt the GPU's right?

Yes you can Disable SLI if you dont want it, the second GPU will just become a physx dedicated card. But that defeats the whole purpose of SLI. you want the GPU to work together the whole time.

What's PhysX?

War Thunder supports SLI (I think... they keep bringing out updates so you need to check). Get that and play a tank battle with all setting on full, in the top left you will see your frame rate and both GPUs should be eating plenty of air.

Also get 'MSI Afterburner' (Works with any make of cards) and then ensure in setting that you have both GPU's set to show, you should see 2 graphs of amount of GPU usage.

How do I set my GPU's to show in MSI afterburner? Need a little more detailed explanation.

Purchasing more GPU's for performance is a fundamentally flawed approach.

Performance originates with the CPU, not the GPU.

If you want more FPS, get a faster CPU.
If you want more visual quality, buy bigger better or multiple GPUs.

settings, monitoring, 'ACTIVE HARDWARE MONITORING GRAPHS'

you will see lots of options you can tick on or off. For now just leave on GPU USAGE and then press ok.

Then on the constantly updating graph you should see two graphs, some games will have both lines in the graphs going up high as you use SLI, some games will show one going up high and the other staying at non-load usage if the game is not using SLI.

I'm playing a game called Firefall, and I see it uses both GPU's, but I don't get an FPS increase? What's that about?

Do you have V-Sync enabled? If yes it locks it to 60FPS. Some games have set FPS, like the recent crap horror game called Evil Within. They locked the game at 30fps!!! After a huge outcry from the PC community they made a patch which allows you to play it at 60FPS but no higher, although there are people out there that could play it at over 100FPS no doubt.

I don't have V-Sync on, but it's only if i look at the main town, i get the FPS Drops, out in the wilderness i run 130 Fps.

Ok,

Read this thread and see if you have done everything on there and report back.

Try a game that we know supports SLI as well. Or just a free benchmark tool should do. Something like http://www.futuremark.com/support/downloads. Their free version has some SLI tests I think.
