Hey guys,

Yesterday I decided I wanted to upgrade my ASUS GTX560TiDCII Top for an ASUS GTX 970 STRIX card, with the purchase I also decided to upgrade my old 500watt Sharkoon psu for a new corsair CX600M.

When I finally switched the components and tried to boot my system. It turned on but didn't get to my bios or my windows at all. it was stuck on a black screen with the number 92 on the lower right corner of my screen. Also my speaker gave 3 high beeps with 3 to 5 second intervals.

I decided after an hour that either my motherboard was the reason or my PSU was faulty, I'm using the Msi z68a-g43 with an i5 2500K processor.
I looked up my motherboard in combination with the new gpu and it says it should be compatible. I've tried every PCI slot and no succes.

So after doing all this I decided to just put the new components in their boxes safe and have them here till I find a solution. I hope any of you guys can help :)

Solution
Try the video card with the old power supply, those CX series are rather low quality.
The beep codes are telling you the problem check the manual.

Yeah I wanted to try it but my old psu doesn;t have the required pci-e cables to feed my new gpu, it requires one 8 pin, but I only have 2 six pin power connectors, so my question to you is, can I simply put the second 6pin next to the other whilst the other 4 pins don't feed anything. Or isn't that how this works?

In advance sorry for any stupid question and or answer from me, I'm still learning :p
