Need help with OS and Driver compatibility!

Hello! I recently bought Windows 8.1 with my fairly out dated system. I try to launch a few games that have retro/pixel graphics (FTL, Minecraft, Papers Please) and with these three games I have had problems. Minecraft: Says I need to update my drivers and won't start, the other two I lag majorly (5-10 FPS). So, I try to update my drivers for my AMD radeon HD 4550 (outdated I know)
But it seems that there are no drivers for it on windows 8.1. If anyone knows a work around or something for this I would be very grateful! Thanks in advance!

You may be SOL in that case, AMD cut driver support for the 4000 series Radeons sometime in 2013, I think shortly before Windows 8.1 came out. If there is a Windows 8 compatible driver, I would suggest you try that and hope it works.

those games you listed aren't really retro, they're just pixel graphcs, and minecraft is 3d with pixel textures.
you should still be able to use the latest windows 7 drivers though.
And how exactly DID you upgrade your computer to windows 8? like from what os?
Did you try reinstalling the games?
