Hello. My laptop recently installed some windows updates and as soon as it restarted I got the blue screen stop error 0x0000007E. I tried booting it in the safe mode but got the same error. I'm trying to do a system restore, I took a Windows 7 x64 iso off the internet and made a bootable usb drive, when I click on the system recovery options it shows no operating system but my hard disk does have an os installed. I don't know what drivers to download for loading in the "load driver" option. In system restore it says
To use system restore you must specify which Windows installation to restore. Restart this computer select an OS and then select system restore.. Help anyone pls? I've never encountered such a problem before. I can post my sys specs if required.

Hey there, Ali!

You should make sure the boot priority in the BIOS is set properly.
Also if you have any external devices plugged in, you should remove them from the USB ports.
I'd suggest to check the hard drive using a diagnostics utility and since you cannot boot into Windows, you should download the DOS version from your HDD manufacturer's website.
This will determine whether the HDD is to blame for this error or we should be looking at some other component.
