System was running fine and playing games for 3 days first time I left it on overnight it would not come out of sleep mode. Did a reset and got error debug code 5d. I never updated the bios before install and now i am unable to because it will not post. I am puzzled because it was running fine for 3 days only issue was a USB driver that needed updating. I am running windows 7 pro 64 bit

swapped video cards
swapped out for different ram
unplugged all other devices,
cleared cmos
system still will not post.

cpu is a x4 860k amd Athlon

video card currently in it is a radeon 7750

ram i tried was
corsair vengeance 2400 cmy8gx3m2a2400c11r

also tried hyper x fury 1600 hx316c10fb/4

Thermotake 500 watt power supply
Seagate thin 500gb sshd

Please help

Phoned into MSI tech support today went though a quick review of the run up and the issues. I was informed that the 5d debug code is no memory initialization, MSI informed me it was a bad board something to do with the dimm slots. I sent it back to newegg at my cost it was still within the 30 days, so much for my Christmas present O well my birthday is in February should have it back and running by then. My worst fear is I get the same issue. I have always had Asus systems before I hope I didn't make a bad choice.

I received the Motherboard back today, it was and open box item they sent me by the looks of it. I had the same experience as the first one the 5d code came up and would not post at all, a t least he first board ran for 3 days. I phoned into msi tech support, this time the tech seemed confused and offered no help what so ever but to say its a bad board again. I am returning it to New egg this time for a refund,I guess I am out all the shipping. I have placed an order with NCIX for the Asus cross blade ranger a88x , they price match and free ship, i should of stayed with Asus, the msi board seemed like a good value and looked great, too bad. My feeling is MSi knows it has a problem and is selling the faulty boards anyway to weed out the bad ones.

Thats a shame a got two bad boards unless your RAM is bad, I had an issue with the a88x-g43 board after a year and sent it to RMA with MSI which sux. Still waiting for that to come in and bought the a88x-g45 since it was on sale from Frys for 69 bucks and so far I have had no issues with mine. You might of gotten hosed from Newegg when they returned the board to you with RMA process. The board I got back from MSI had the heat sinks loose on the board.
