Watching live TV through TV tuner and Home Server

Hey everyone,

So here's my situation... I'm living in a college dorm and already have 2 monitors for my PC, so I'm not going to go out and buy a cheap 20" TV. I'm very aware of the idea of using either a PCI-e or external TV tuner to plug into my computer, however I'm trying to be a little more complex. I hate the idea of installing software on my 128GB SSD because I'm already running low on space. So I was wondering, since I am going to be bringing down a Home Server (with Ubuntu Server installed) this semester to use as an email-server/NAS/download-server, is it possible to somehow use the tuner on the server, and stream it from there to my PC? This is the first time I've ever built and used a server before, so I'm not too sure on all of its capabilities.

EDIT1: The server is nothing special: Dual core 2.3ghzish? will eventually have 2gb DDR2.
EDIT2: I don't want to buy any streaming devices such as http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833122447 if possible

Solution
...it was an option to avoid messing with the server is all.

XMBC has a live streaming function and MythTv backend can also be installed on the Ubuntu Server.
Those are the only ones I'm aware of.

Thanks for the quick response. I was not aware that you didn't need WinTV, but this is not my issue; I'm wondering if it's possible to stream the TV channels from my server running ubuntu server to the PC without using any extra hardware.
