Gentlemen, actually I have two questions in one post. Hopefully someone will be able to give me decent answers.

Question 1: I am planning to build the following high end gaming rig. Looking for advice on components I might change for additional improved performance. I want a good gaming experience at 1440p ultra settings for games such as BF4, GTA V (you probably get the point). In addition it will need to be "future proof" for around 3-4 years.

The planned rig will cost me around 3500 USD - not looking to throw in a lot of extra cash, but might consider it if the gaming experience will improve.

Main question is if the rig is balanced or not?
What FPS can I expect to get at GTA V at 1440p ultra settings?
Will the planned cooling suffice?
Should I just go with 970 in SLI instead of 980 in SLI (will save 400USD) ?

Cabinet: Corsair Graphite 230T Midi Tower
CPU: Intel i7-5820K; overclocked to 4,4 GHz
Motherboard: ASUS X-99A
CPU Cooler: Corsair H110i
GPU1: MSI GeForce GTX 980 Gaming 4GB (in SLI)
GPU2: MSI GeForce GTX 980 Gaming 4GB (in SLI)
PSU: Corsair RM750, 750W PSU
RAM: 32 GB Crucial DDR4 Ballistix 2400MHz XMP
SSD: 480 GB Crucial m500 SSD
HDD: 2TB
Sound: ASUS Xonar DGX
Optical Drive: ASUS BC-12D2HT, BD-Reader/DVD-Writer

Question 2: Looking for an easy improvement on my old rig (from 2011). Will just keep it as a spare for friends that come over. Is it just as simple as upgrading the GPU to GTX 690 (can get for around 400 USD).

CPU: intel i7-2600K overclock to 4,2 GHz (no additional cooling)
Motherboard:GA-P67A-UD3H-B3
RAM: 8 GB 1066 MHz
GPU: GTX 570
PSU: 650W
SSD: 90GB
HDD: 1TB

Answers/suggestions/comments will be much appreciated!

Have a Nice day!

I would suggest going with these components.

I went with 16GB's of ram for now because that is more than enough for any gaming PC. And when you need more, that is like the easiest thing to upgrade. Just buy another 2x8gb set that is the same speed and put em in.

I went with the slightly better version Asus motherboard. This board has a few more bells and whistles, including 4 way SLI, and 128 gigs of ram (that is crazy! haha).

I went with a 1600 watt PSU so that you wouldn't need to upgrade if you decide to go 4 way SLI 980's, overclock them all........annnnnd overclock your CPU on top of it all.

I also went with high quality 500GB SSD, 2TB HDD, and high end case. Oh, and I chose the CM Nepton 280L because of the outstanding reviews it got. Seems to be the best CPU cooler on the market at the moment.

This thing will last you at least 4 years, all games played on ultra at 1440p. And after that, you could always add up to two more 980's, and some ram, and who knows how long this thing could last you.

Let me know what you think.

What do you think the FPS will be on GTA 4 1440p ultra settings?
