My pc monitor would go into power save mode randomly regardless of weather or not I was playing games so I decided to clean the insides specifically the cpu and gpu fans. After reinstalling all the components the issue was still present except now it happened after Booting up right before logining into my account.

Next I removed most of the cables and reinserted them back where they corresponded to try and fix the issue. This only worsened the whole ordeal by putting the computer into a loop where it would turn on for a moment then turn off only to do it again until I shut it off. I removed most of the cables again and reinstalled them successfully putting my self back to where it powers down before the login screen.
Also right as the comp reaches what would be the login the GPU fan speeds up incredibly fast but slows down back to normal after a while

Specs:
CPU: Intel i5 - 2400

RAM: 2x4gb g.skill Ripjaw X
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-H61M-D2P-B3
PSU: Eagle Voltas X ET-PSVT600E 600w

thanks, that's what I've picked up so far definitely gonna go shopping for those asap. I updated my bios though and have gotten my computer working again, but am not sure if the issue is gone for good so i will change the PSU more as precautionary measure now.

Is there anything specific i should look for when buying a PSU?

i plan on upgrading my GPU sometime within the next year to probably to a high end 700 series or maybe even 900 series. I suppose around $100 would be my limit for now :jap:

i would strongly suggest the nvidia 900 series.! gtx 970 will do just fine.! however in a years time more gpu will have surfaced, you may need to alter your choices by then! :)
