Mixing RAMs from different brands

Hi, I'm kinda new in these things and I'd like to have some questions answered.

Two years ago I bought a set of 2x4GB Corsair RAMs.
A week ago one of the sticks stopped working (I figured out which one with a memtest). I discovered that Corsair RAMs have lifetime warranty, but they would require me to send them both sticks.

The thing is, I don't have any RAM module to use while they have mine, and I need the PC for studying.
I decided to buy an additional 4GB RAM module to use in the meantime, that would double as an upgrade when the replaced RAMs would come back.

Now comes the question: Do I have to buy another RAM of the same type or can I use a different one? Corsair ones are more expensive, and saving some money would be nice.

Specs:
Motherboard: AsRock Z77 Extreme4
RAMs that I already own: 2x4GB DDR3 Vengeance Blue Low Profile CML8GX3M2A1600C9B 1600MHz CL9
RAM that I'd like to buy: HyperX Fury Blue Series RAM Memory, 4 GB, 1600 MHz, DDR3

I'm not a native english speaker, I hope everything is clear.

what latency (cl) are the hyperx fury running?

and jsut be sure to place them at the right mem slot ex. the 2x4gb vengeance at slot 1 and 3 (both same colors mem slot) and the hyper x at slot 2 and 4 (both same color mem slot also)

i dunno about mixing CL but i think its ok because they are both at 1600 mhz, just what i said about the mem slot. same color slot for same brands. i tried 8gb corsair vengeance cl 9 1600 and 2gb gskills ripjaws x 1866 cl 9 and they ran at 1600 cl8 dual channel. but only the 4gb out of the 10gb will run at dual channel.

I tried googling a bit and it looks like general consensus is that mixing different CAS Latencies is something to avoid.
I guess I'll buy a module of the same type I own, I just found one at like 5€ over the one I wanted to buy before.

Thanks a lot for your answers by the way :)
