Will a 600 watt PSU be enough for a Sapphire Radeon VAPOR-X R9 280X 3GB?

So I've really been looking at this card and came across the official website for it. It says it requires a 750 watt PSU....that doesn't seem right for a single card configuration...that's gotta be a spelling error? or am I just dumb?

I also have the correct hookups on my PSU, which I will also add is from EVGA.

Full build, please, sir. What model is your PSU exactly?

In gerenral, 750W PSU for a single 280X is overkill, since it uses (at most) 250W under full load. Add another approx. 100W for CPU, another 50W for the rest and you will land at 400W as a worst case scenario, which will likely never happen in practice.

A quality 550W PSU will do. But to tell precisely, more info is needed.

Here is another test showing it drawing 457W at full load in this case
http://www.tweaktown.com/reviews/6529/sapphire-radeon-r9-280x-3gb-vapor-x-oc-video-card-review/index16.html

So assuming your PSU is of decent quality you'll be fine. The EVGA 600B1 (I'm assuming that's what you have) is ... well... average. It's a solid, standard atx power supply meant for general use, not high end gaming systems that will be overclocked, so keep that in mind.

That sapphire website is recommending 750W to compensate for the fact that many people have very low end PSUs.

Yes, that is my model. The EVGA 600B 80PLUS Bronze Certified ATX12V/EPS12V Active PFC 600W Power Supply 100-B1-0600-KR

I actually have another question on the card I forgot to mention in the post. Do you know if the GPU will fit inside my case? It's a mid tower case, and wanna say it's called the Apevia X-Sniper 2 Metal Case. I know the card is pretty long with the 3 fans.
