Huge Slow Freezing time lag Hard Drive Disk usage 100%

Can someone help how to fix? I've bought 1TB Seagate. It is been 6 month now. Now massive lag happens. First Previous os was windows 8 then freezing lag happens every moments hard disk usage 100%. Formated windows 7 a few days later then system freezing lag.

Hey SteelPerfect. First I'd recommend that you backup any important data which you might have on this drive. Then I'd suggest that you download the manufacturer's diagnostic tool and test it with it. You could also try the drive with a different computer or at least a different SATA and/or power connection to see if the same thing happens.

If you are seeing the HDD being used 100% for most of the times, it can be a virus too.. To check for viruses you can use the below tool.

It seems like the drive is healthy. @Nuwan Fernando has a pretty good point there, so if I were you, I'd try his recommendation as well. Just remember to update the database of the anti-virus/anti-malware program before you run a complete scan. Also if that doesn't work, try connecting the drive with different SATA connection, because this might be due to a faulty cable.
