i placed the ram stick beside the other one because the memory slot in my mobo has the 2 blue slot sitting together like the other slot(white). my mobo is asrock M3A770DE. when i checked my memory speed in the task manager it shows 800MHz. Did i do something wrong?
sorry for my bad english.

Solution
you multiply it by 2 then you get 1600mhz.. nothing is wrong dude the task manager is showing ddr speed which you nid to multiply by 2 to get ddr3 speed.

It's fine. If you check on CPU-Z it will show 800MHz too. DDR = double data rate, the actual value is the double of the one shown. Also, in CPU-Z you can check if the memory is actually placed in the right slots, it will show as Single or Dual Channel (you want the dual channel for better performance).
