Hello everyone,

My story began at the end of the summer, I got back to the city and decided to built a low budget high-end gaming pc. I did my research everywhere I could think of and finally found my needs answered at the following system:

MoBo: Asus Sabertooth R2.0
CPU: AMD Fx-8350 @ 4.00Ghz (with Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo from the start)
Ram: Kingston HyperX 2x4Gb @ 1600Mhz
GPU: Asus GT 740 2Gb
PSU: Xilence Gaming Series 800W
SSD: Kingston 120Gb

At the 9th of September I finally bought this pc. From the second week the problems came in!! Randomly every single day I had to witness a several freeze crashes. It start from 1-3 per day and end up to the highest maximum of 25-30 at some points!!! In my effort to try and solve this problem with my brand new pc the answers I get was:

1) Try a different gpu. -Done the problem still the same.
2) Try a different Ram. -Done the problem still the same.
3) Try minumum usage. -Done the problem still the same.
4) Check motherboard. -Done the problem still the same.
5) Try a different HDD. -Done the problem still the same.
6) Update the BIOS. -Done the problem still the same. (done it more than 5 times)
7) Format and Reinstall Os. -Done the problem still the same. ( done it more than 25 times)

After doing all of the above I started to going crazy about it, and then a friend told that maybe there is a possibility that the crashes occur due to lower capacity at the PSU below 1.000W and that there is a chance that the motherboard or CPU not getting the proper power at the exact time and I get the crash follow up. I have an 800W and I start wondering about this the last couple of days. I forgot to mention that I finish the whole Crysis 3 in a week and a half, I'm playing a lot of online FPS games and I recently had a CoD Advanced Warfare marathon ending with 11 hours of continuous gaming at ultra graphics and not 1 crash. If I go out of a game maybe I would get one or two but in Crysis, CoD, GhostReconPhantoms never inside the game.

Finally, yesterday, I thought why not try to change a little bit the BIOS settings?? I ended up changing the CPU clock at 4.33Ghz and pushing up a little bit up everything I could because It was really my last effort before I decide to burn it. The results??? The system is for the very first time in almost 3-4 months stable more than 26 hours in raw as I'm writing this down. Is it possible that all it needed from the start was a little push from my side??

P.S.
Thanks a lot for reading my little novel!! :p
xoxo..

Solution
I'm pretty sure any tinkering with voltage or OC settings invalidates warranty, but AMD would be hard-pressed in finding that out.

And no problem, friend. Good luck in your future endeavors.

EDIT:

I'm running now at 4.51 Ghz @ 1.476 V with 43-50 Celsius degrees, and I'm still stable how is this possible??

The only reason I can imagine that this is possible is that the default voltage was not enough to power the CPU at stock clocks, but you alleviated that problem when you OC'd and gave more voltage. I'd imagine that you would also alleviate the problem if, at stock clocks, you upped the voltage a little. But, if you want to keep this OC, you're good to go.

As I'm seeing right now maybe this is the problem, but I can't figure out why. If my processor goes dark some day now I will probably lose my warranty because it's overclocked?? and what about not being stable at stock values??
Now I decrease a little the voltage from 1.476 to 1.452 and stayed @ 4.51 with even lower temp @ 30-45c.
Still stable.

Anyway thanks a lot for spending your time for my problem.
Appreciate it man.
