Is my PSU the cause of my random and instant shutdowns

Hello,

Over the last couple of weeks I've noticed I've been getting two issues with my PC, the first being that I would usually get a blue screen which was due to high temperatures of the CPU. The second issue would be instant shut downs, what I mean by this is that the computer will completely turn off and then boot back up.

I've fixed the first issue as I bought a new liquid cooler the H80i which has proven to work very well for me, but I thought the second issue would be fixed as well. I have known off the instant shut downs to be also caused by high temperatures, but this was not the case. The instant shut downs still were occurring, I've been monitoring my temps and they seem fine to me. This issue only happens when I'm playing demanding games, and it started happening much more frequently since the installation of my new graphics card. Also If I over clock my GPU I notice that this issue would happen quicker.

From my recent researching across the web I've seen multiple people have the same situation and the issue was the PSU dying or not being powerful enough. I just wanted any opinions or suggestions to what else could be causing this problem.

It seems to me that it is most likely my PSU causing this as the Raidmax brand is rather poor from other peoples experiences which I have heard of.

Specs:

CPU - Intel i7 2700k OC @4.2 Ghz
GPU - GTX 970 MSI Twin Frozr V
RAM - 8GB
Motherboard - Maximus IV Gene Z
PSU - Raidmax RX-1000AE

Temps Idle:

CPU - 25-32c
GPU - 24-29

Temps Full Load:

CPU - 45-55c
GPU - 50-55c

Also I have been looking around to purchase a new PSU and the EVGA SuperNOVA G2 750W has taken my liking, the reviews seem very good. Although would this PSU be enough if I wanted to SLI my rig for Dual 970's.

Thanks,
Dan.

Yes this was my assumption from the start.

That's good, although would you recommend me purchasing a 850w PSU to be safe or is that just unnecessary?

Yes from what I've discovered Raid max are one of the most unreliable brands out there, this must be the solution.

Yeah perhaps I should go for a 850w as it's always better to have more than not enough in this situation.
