Hi, my pc rig currently running at Amd FX8300 with 16gb ram, Msi 770GTX Video Card
I still don't know how the AMD FX-8300 compares too the intel i series, i had some say is about i5 level, but i wanted to get to i7 level and i'm planning to upgrade the cpu to intel i7 using the fellowing :
and rumors - say that intel is about to release the intel i9 series,,is that true

Asus Maximus VII Hero Motherboard
Corsair vengeance Heatspreader 16gb ram
Western Digital Black edition 2tb
Noctua NH-D14 Heatpipe Cpu cooler
Corsair CX series CX750M ATX 750w power supply
NZXT H440 ATX Mid Tower Case
Video Card ; TAKE OUT MY OLD MSI 770GTX 2GB CARD
running windows 8.1 64bit

But the total without the video card, would be $1,443.82

is this worth it or should i wait and keep my old asus - amd fx-8300 pc
thanks guys

There is no Intel i9 series, nor is it coming anytime. If you want faster than an i7, look at the i7 Extreme.

There is no doubt that a new i7-4790K would offer more performance, but the question is if your current rig is really in need of an update.

If you can live with your current rig, I would recommend to wait for Skylake that is expected for the 2nd half of 2015, and is predicted to be more of a performance jump for you.
