I bought a Corsair RM650 recently. I installed it yesterday, played Assassin's Creed maxed out for about three hours and it was running fine. Today when i played League of legends, 20 mins into the game the PC turned off and when it booted back again, it said ASUS Anti Surge turned off the PC because of power surge to protect from unstable power supply unit. I opened my PC and unplugged all the cables and plugged them back again, making sure they are properly plugged in. It's running fine for now. Should I give back the PSU and get another one? Could the power surges be due to loose connections?

I would wait to see whether or not it happens again since you replugged everything. If it happens again, update BIOS to the latest version first and try again. Corsair RM650 is a top-quality PSU; I suspect motherboard (or its features) are the issue, not the PSU.

I already updated my motherboarad BIOS a few days ago before i got this PSU. I'll wait and see if it happens again. Is there a chance it would fry my CPU or GPU?
