BIOS takes a long time to start

Hello everyone! I'm, uh, kinda scared here. I wanted to test out a Linux live CD. I put it in my computer, powered it down, turned it back on, and held the delete key to get into the BIOS. It's been several minutes, and nothing's happened. Did the Linux live CD damage my computer? Please help me out here...

Remove the CD and try restarting th computer. If it works fine, there might be issues with CD and you would need to create a new one. Otherwise, the issue might be with HDD as usually BIOS takes long time if the HDD is unresponsive.
