Hello all.
A couple of months ago I upgraded my router to the Virgin Media Super Hub 2 (actually a Netgear VMDG480). This did great things for the download speed on my desktop (Windows 7, connected by wifi) and two smartphones (IOS and Android), but for some reason my laptop seems to have real problems when connecting to the internet via the wifi. The laptop does work very well when connected by ethernet cable.
Please help!
Here are the results of a speed test run through Ookla:
Ookla speed test results for wifi:
Ping 21 ms
Download speed 4.96 Mbps
Upload speed 1.21 Mbps
Ookla speed test results for ethernet:
Ping 7 ms
Download speed 54.62 Mbps
Upload speed 3.09 Mbps
Here are some details about my system:
Laptop:
Toshiba latop with Intel Core i5-4200M CPU @ 2.50 GHz
8.00 GB RAM
Windows 8.1 64-bit
Wireless network adaptor:
Qualcomm Atheros AR956x (drivers updated)
Router:
Virgin Media (Netgear) VMDG480
Any input would be very gratefully received!
