A similar question was asked but it didn't have relevant info.

I notice that when using Handbrake to compress a 1G video to MP4 format the processor is running at 100%.

Is that normal and might it be detrimental in the long run? Just that I want to do a lot of video compression. :)

I could run other programs at the same time so my new kit works brilliantly. It took 8 minutes to compress down to 400MB which I think is good? My i3 processor on my NUC box would take much longer I think.

Thanks. I was wondering if maybe chips are designed to run flat out when necessary but do they have a limit before overheating - video compression is long and intensive. No heat from the box but it does seem to have an efficient fan.
