I installed a new graphics card to gain an HDMI port for my projector. After installing the I had thought I was randomly loosing my keyboard and mouse due to the power supply being too small so I bought a powered USB hub but that didn't help. Turns out the computer is locking up not just the keyboard and mouse. I bought some new heat sink paste on the cpu and cleaned the fan, also didn't help. After doing some reading I ran a couple registry cleaners and some other programs but didn't help. I'm stumped, it has to be something with the new video card conflicting with facebook but I just don't know what.

Solution
Hmm well try this. In Chrome, go to Settings > Show Advanced Settings > Under 'System' un-check 'Use hardware acceleration when available'

Yes I did loaded the drivers, but I didn't try uninstalling and reinstalling to see if that solved it.

I had thought it was only facebook but my wife tells me it froze on YouTube today. Facebook froze on both Chrome and FireFox, didn't try IE. But I was using YouTube a lot the other night and it worked fine.

I just tired uninstalling and reinstaling the drivers and it didn't help. I also check to make sure my Flash was enabled and updated.

This seems like it's working for Chrome. It would lock up in 30 seconds on facebook before but after a few minutes on FB it hasn't locked up yet,. Tried the same for for firefox and it didn't help. I wouldn't worry about firefox if chrome stayed working but my wife uses firefox, and suggestions for that?

I am going to say that was the fix for Chrome, the wife will just have to get use to using that. It has worked all day.

Another minor issue I am have is when I play any type of video, online or one off the computer I get a quick break in the screen, almost like it's splitting the screen between frames, like the bottom is moving slower than the top but only for a moment, happens very fast but repeats itself. Only seems to happen when something is moving fast on the screen, happens both on projector and monitor.
