Rear PC Radiator Intake or Exhaust?

Hi,

Wanted to ask which airflow is best for a rear push-pull radiator. Been searching and most that i've read only mentions top mounted radiator.

My current cooling setup is 2 120m front intake fans, 1 120m intake bottom, 2 140m exhaust fan on top and a push-pull exhaust radiator(2 120m with rad in between) at rear. I'm using a graphite 230t case.

I think i've read somewhere it's also good to use rear radiator as intake but not quite sure. Doesn't look good visually if the fans are facing backwards.

Solution
As a rule top and rear want to be exhaust so the radiator wants to be set that way, front and bottom as intake. If you use it as an intake you will need dust filters or you will find crap builds up fast on the radiator.

Thanks! I've actually just tested it as an intake it lowered my cpu temps around 2c. Not worth the dust and the noticeable increase in noise. Will set it back as exhaust :)

Another rule of thumb is you want to have a positive air pressure throughout your case. If you have too many exhaust fans then you have a negative pressure going on. Most people at least two intake in the front and one or two exhaust in the top and back to direct an airflow from the front of the case to the top and back because heat rises. Another option could be to have fans at the bottom blowing upwards and only having the top ones be exhaust. That's the only reason I can see for having your rear an intake. I hope this helps!
