fx 8350 with Ta970 core speeds locked

Hi guys, ive recently been given a new motherboard and processor i have

CPU - AMD FX-8350
MB- Biostar TA970
GPU - HD 8750
PSU - 720w output
4gb Ram


Now my problem is its stuck at 1400 mhz and 7x multiplyer under full load, ive tried everything ive read about with changing to high perforamce power options, going into bios and disabling power saving options an still it doesnt want to run full power.

Ive added a screenshot of CPU-Z results under full load so you can see whats goin on a little more.

im thinking motherboard problems. if you have a 990fx chipset motherboard you can test with that and see if the 8350 will run at full speed.

i think the motherboard is not letting your fx 8350 run at full speed due the insufficient power the motherboard would supply.

your motherboard only has 1x4 pin connector compared to the other motherboards with 2x4 pin connectors.

and you got a hd 8750? i tot those where only for laptops?.. :D

and i gotta ask what is the brand of your psu?

im not an expert with amd parts but i'll suggest to get a 990fx chipset motherboard from gigabyte or asus. or you could ask around the forum for the best and cheapest mobo that will run the 8350 flawlessly.

Ive tried it i get the same outcome, no options seem to be making any changed what so ever
