Hi,
I'm trying to connect my FullHD AOC 2369V screen to my HP Pavilion 17 laptop, which has a resolution of 1600x900.
The problem is; either my monitor shows everything upscaled from 900p to 1080p(which is very, very ugly), or I have black borders at the sides of the screen. I've played around with the resolution settings in control panel and several settings in CCC, but I can't get it to work properly.
I've closed my laptop's lid, and 'second screen only' is selected, so it's not the problem that the GPU has to show two different resolutions. (although I suppose this shouldn't be a problem, too.) My GPU(HD8550G) would support resolutions up to 2560x1600. My screen is connected with an HDMI cable. However, with a VGA cable everything works, but I'd rather use HDMI obviously.
Cheers

Everything that's not greyed out I have tried, but nothing works. There's a bar which you could set somewhere between overscan or underscan if that's what you mean, but this option is greyed out along with the checkbox to enable this feature.

Its possible then that your onboard video for the laptop is not capable of fully displaying your native display along with a 2nd display. It could be limited to the 1600x900 if this is an older or cheap laptop.

Could be, but when I connect the screen via VGA cable it can display 1080p, but not when I connect the screen with an HDMI cable. But since i don't use my screen with my laptop together, i'll just use the vga cable. Thanks for your effort
