Picked up a used computer, and going over things. Thermaltake V9, XFX 750W Black Editon... anyway, I noted when I put the computer to sleep, the case fans keep running. Further inspection found the case fans (4) are 4-pin Molex, and come directly from the PS.

Does the MB comunicate info back to the PS?
Could MB settings (reading up on S1, S3 mode, etc) turn on or off outputs of the PS?

I'm on and off the computer all day - silly to have to shut her down completely to shut off the case fans... and really lost on the fan-keep-running thing, as in all my other computers, the fans all feed off the motherboard...

???

Awesome - yes, that did it.
Also tweeked a few other things to make her react as I'm used to.
All happy now. I think the original owner may have just let the fans run, judging from the dust build-up.
